An installed curtain price is only meaningful when the window and scope are defined. A motor on its own is not a complete installation, and two windows of similar width can need different tracks, power arrangements and controls.
For a first discussion, collect approximate dimensions and explain whether you want curtains, blinds or both. Final measurements should be confirmed by the specialist before an order is placed.
The track arrangement
A single curtain track, a sheer-and-blackout double track and a shaped or recessed installation can have different requirements. Opening direction, recess depth, brackets and access for maintenance should be addressed in the survey.
Ask whether the existing track can stay. Adding a motor is not always possible or sensible, and an estimate should not silently assume that all current hardware can be reused.
Fabric and motor selection
The specialist needs to consider the complete moving load, including fabric and lining, against the proposed equipment. Ask for the exact motor and track specification and a demonstration where possible. Noise, movement and finish affect everyday satisfaction as much as an app feature.
Fabric supply, lining, tailoring and decorative accessories should be listed separately unless the package expressly includes them.
Power and control
Clarify how each motor is powered and whether new power provision is needed. Where battery equipment is proposed, ask how it is accessed and maintained. Agree whether the curtains use a remote, wall control, schedule or integration with the wider home.
The same curtain can be a standalone convenience or part of a coordinated evening routine. Those scopes involve different controls and programming.
Installation and making good
An occupied villa may need furniture protection and careful access. A renovation may need coordination with ceiling and electrical work. Specify mounting, commissioning, working hours and responsibility for repairing finishes.
Do not compare a supply-only internet price with a measured and installed proposal without accounting for those differences.
